I write and occasionally play piano (by notes, not by ear)

Here's a poem I wrote a couple months ago:

"When I wake
And you're half asleep
The most bitter feelings sneak
Drown out the first light of my lovely denial
Keep me safe in the shadows
Drenched by your smile
One more minute, dear, before the world awaits

Um, I'm pretty ok at poetry and drawing/painting. I'm probably better at both of those than I am at song writing... but, whatever. Here's where I post my craptastic music:

I could live a thousand lives
and still you'd be an island.
"Here" I'd say, "take my heart."
But you would laugh
and only take my hands.
These hands.
These hands that write you symphonies.
I could break down every wall I've ever built.
Ever door I've ever locked.
Slip away from every face I've ever known.

Well I voted for drawing cause that's what I'm best at I guess. I'll maybe post some soon hahaha, but I also enjoy taking photos now and than of like the beach or weather

Well, if we aren't counting being GOOD at art.  I enjoy playing the guitar (youtube is a great teacher) and the uke(also youtube), piano when I was younger (didn't really get into it).  I draw and do vfx.

As most of you know, I play guitar and sing.

Poem 1 - Written when I was a freshman in high school

Trapped in these circles
We follow ourselves
Only to realize
We're living in hell

Day by day
We run with our lives
Walk in the shadows
And attempt to survive

Stay with each other
Simply to find
There is no one other
Than us the divine

Trapped in these circles
We're sick of ourselves
Although there's no other
We live and we kill

With Him in our way
We escape from the power
Keep losing yourself
Hour by hour

There is nobody else
Just you and me
Nobody else
So we can be free

Trapped in these circles
We're locked in our head
Look far beyond
What lies ahead

Poem 2 - Written when I was sophomore in high school

This house is feeling punctured
When everything falls down
The wood, starts to crumble
But doesn't hit the ground

They look around to find you
But you're already gone
Laying in the backroom
Tearing on the floor

Now everything seems useless
When your feelings hit the sky
No one there to hold you
When you know you need to cry

Nothingness around you
The way its always been
You still feel the hatred
Toward those who won't give in

All is good for nothing
Nothing's good for you
All you want is someone
To know what you've been through

But soon it will be over
There's no way left to live
The weight's still on your shoulders
Nothing left to give

The eyes I saw through were not my own – Still a man, but he’s older and grown
As though I were perched up in a corner - Blocking all feeling of what he has done
Three white walls – This room has bred the unclean
White, Black, and Gray – Thieves have taken her color
Two closet doors standing tall
And my love on the floor – This burden I bear
Leaning against and curled – All shame and despair
As though she were chained – Is building these walls
Wishing that one day she will forget – That need no repair

I play some instruments.  Namely guitar I suppose.  I've never been phenomenal because I taught myself and subsequently learned a lot of bad habits.  I used to play trumpet a lot more, but my embouchure has gone to hell.
I do a lot of 'other' things that my be considered art, I suppose.  Some of my landscape designs, I suppose could be considered art.  I've wrote a few songs; said some stuff, but never wrote a poem on purpose.  I've drawn a few decent pictures on accident.   I'm too clumsy for fine art, I do better with big stuff:


(a flagstone-scape I did)  Never did take any 'after' pictures of that one, but it probably looks like this one I did now:




People tend to think of 'xeriscaping' as ugly and dry, but its my art form.  None of these designs have or need a sprinkler system.
