Convert CTF to Assault Server

I have been discussing this with a few 1ups, that is, converting CTF to the new Assault mode of play.

I have the maps and could do this for after the new year. What I will probably do is make two configs for that server: 1 for Assault mode and 1 for CTF mode.

Here are some youtube videos showing how it plays. Make sure to watch them because I would like to have our clan all meet and play this mode every so often. It could become a very popular item.

is it right to pick CTF? FFA hardly seems populated.

I agree with bizzy, there are hardly any members in FFA. We need to keep the CTF server for practice for scrims and league matches.

I just checked the numbers on both those servers right now: CTF has 11 players, FFA has 13. Personally I quite like practicing in FFA as it presents quite a challenge when there are plenty of players. You have to plan ahead to find safe areas to reload and use your ears a lot.

FFA is a bot-specific server that can only have certain maps.

The CTF server is dead quite a bit lately, so I will make two configs. If we want to play assault mode an admin can execute that config and the server will go right to it, otherwise it can remain in CTF.

Not yet Panda, at least for what Ron says he will get to work on it until next year (in a few days ), still, i wish we could do this in FFA, i love it but ive seen more ppl on ctf than ffa, oh well, if its ctf its ctf...

also, AWESOME! i can see this mod becoming very popular, very tactical! hopefully it will be added to FTW too , keep up the good work Ron !

I have been looking at this and I do not see how to activate this on your server. Doesn't there need to be a game type mode to set in the server.cfg? Also... is there a map to download from them? I have been looking on their website but I do not see a map to get... or are they not allowing a map... you have to make your own only?

Maybe noob admin questions but hey... that is what I am anyway

Edit:

I got it working but for some reason the round would not end unless the red team activates all checkpoints and kills all of the blue team a the end

Oh... and for some reason it didn't swap teams after that even though I have the cfg set to swap.

Fixed it... works now. Modoki and I went through a complete cycle of maps and rounds and it functions great. would have been better with more people but a good test run.
