Im not completely around it yet, with my current method it takes 2 recompiles of ioUrbanTerror per map to manage to get in without being kicked lol. And in the process of discovering how to do somethingg like this (or in my case doing stuff with it ages ago) your pretty much guranteed to notice some more hackish things... did you know that changing 1 word in the code can give you a wall hack?

But honestly Ruusan ANYONE can hack these days if they want (just go google aimbot or something you'll find some free ones) the fact is I CHOSE not to hack or use things like this unfairly not that I can't

It's a computer. It is Turing complete. You may do whatever you want on it.
Ethics is what it is here. Changing textures to bright easy to see colours is
hackish, while nowhere near as much as an aimbot, it's still a cheat.

There's a reason why sv_pure exists.

Also, recompiles, or video card restarts?

Sigh the bomb was because I new I could see one quickly Im not actually leaving that there, I know bright textures would be cheating to a very small degree if I used them to actually play. And yes recompiles I have to kill urt and run make after changing a line or two of code in the ioUrbanTerror source code.

The reason I decided to do this was actually so I could make start screens that would still be there after disconnecting from a pure server.

pretty sure you could just download some hack program with chams if your crossing the line anyway, instead of going to all that trouble.

so why would you post a picture of using modified textures in a public server?

He posted the pic to show he can get around sv_pure 1.

He's my friend and I know he'd never use any bright textures to modify his gameplay, like he said, he just wants to keep his modded start screen when he disconnects from a server...

the guy changed all textures to glass with appropriate file names...
added glass shader to all

and went in server, could see everyone and everything ¬_¬'

Russan I didn't download a hack I download the ioUrbanTerror Source for the unmodded client (you know the one you start up every time you play urban terror) and messed it up a bit to create a "hack". And yes I see why you wary... in fact I expected it.
