INACTIVE CLAN MEMBERS

Establishment. There is established a policy to provide for inactive clan members. The policy permits reclassifying a Clan Voting Member or a Clan Member as an Inactive Clan Member.

Purpose. The purpose of promulgating a policy to provide for inactive membership is to afford members reasonable periods of inactivity.

Background. Clan Members may from time to time be unable to participate in clan activities due to planned events or life factors. These include but are not limited to: personal vacations, business trips, excessive periods of inactivity, and other similar factors.

Procedure.
a) Self-Request: A Clan Member may be placed into the inactive status upon notice to the clan of vacation, for an excused leave of absence, or other exempting circumstances.
b) Clan-Imposed: A Clan Voting Member or a Clan Member may be placed into the inactive status by the Clan Founder. Examples of reasons for clan imposed action include but are not limited to: commission of a significant offense by a member against another member, an admin imposed ban on 1up Forum, an admin imposed server ban, etcetera.

Session. "Session" means any period of time in which a person is placed into the inactive status. The policy provides for successive and consecutive sessions.

Time Limitations. Subject to tolling, the maximum length of time a person shall remain in Session is: (a) in the case of a Self-Request Session, 120 days; (b) in the case of a Clan-Imposed Session, 60 days.

Tolling. A written request for reinstatement tolls the Session maximum during the period upon which a request for reinstatement is pending.

Reinstatement Request. A party subjected to Clan-Imposed Session must file a written request for reinstatement. The request shall state the reasons why reinstatement should be granted. A party subjected to a Clan-Imposed Session who fails to file a written request for reinstatement shall be ejected from 1up Clan at the expiration of a full term Clan-Imposed Session.

Session Review Vote. A Session Review Vote shall be called within 5 days of receipt of a written request for reinstatement. The vote shall be called to determine a change in status, reinstatement to Clan Trial Member, reinstatement to Clan Member, expulsion, imposition of a successive or consecutive Session, or other remedy, if any. (a) Where a party subjected to a Clan-Imposed Session does not file a written request for reinstatement, the clan shall proceed to automatically eject the party at the expiration of 55 days of Session. (b) A Self-Request Session can be removed without vote, but in the atypical event that that a Self-Request Session does not seek reinstatement prior to the expiration of a full term Session, then the clan shall proceed to automatically eject the party at the expiration of 115 days of Session.

Notices. All notices, self-requests for status change, clan-imposed status changes, or requests for reinstatement shall be posted on the 1up Forum.
