pyrite, they aren't called hilux, ...

Please explain the photo of my truck then, where it has Hilux clearly written on the side.

Here's another fact for ya, Hilux models sold in Australian and Asian markets are built and assembled in Thailand.

Oh sorry, that paragraph was a little hard to understand/worded poorly.   I meant the American versions aren't called hilux, but they're almost the same truck.  Minor differentiation in trim and cab.  Its the R22 motor that made them great at any rate.

This is almost the exact same truck as 'clyde'. Same color even.  Some people still call them hilux's but I've only seen one with an extended cab like yours that said DLX (deluxe), and the rest all have no markings at all.

There was a great BBC top-gear special on the hilux on youtube, but they aparently took it down.  Among other forms of harsh abuse, they end up lighting it on fire and it still ran afer.

oh  :-[

Didn't see that.  At any rate, I vote that the hilux (or whatever you want to call them) be the official 1up vehicle.  Symbolically, if you think about it, its us.  Its indestructible, compact, efficient, reliable, and goddammit, they're cute.

My uncle has the exact same one thats on the bbc special.  Been trying to pry it from him for years.  While he COULD drive his BMW bike, his Cadillac, or the Audi, he chooses to drive the hilux daily.  He said I can have it when he dies, which, if my calculations are accurate, it will still be in near-perfect condition!

Here is a pic of my fun car.
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible.
Rocket 350 (300HP) 98,000 miles. Almost stock...cept the cam.
Lots of tweaks to the suspension.
Got it from the original owner in 1994.  Traded my collection of 60's GI Joes.  ;)

My son is also low mileage. He was helping me wash it this summer. LOL

Man, sweet cutlass, i love the color.  The only thing I don't love is that break cylinder.  I'm sure it works fine, but dammit, it stands out like a sore thumb.

Sweet car man.  Screw the gi-joes.

Hehe..it was a great trade.

I had a bad seal with the Master cylinder.  Ate the paint off.  When my kids finish college, I plan to
upgrade the brake system to disc. (4 drum brakes for now.)
It was nice that the car was so original.  Still has the stock stereo. ( I have a nice indash mounted in the glovebox)
Also bought a 71 W-30 442 parts car bout 6 years ago.
Goodies I saved:  ram-air hood, W-30 455, Turbo 400, 12 bolt rear, rear spoiler, buckets, console w/dual gate shifter.
Hopefully in the next few years I can finish my dream car.

just a couple questions :), not trying to be a dick, but is that actually your car, or your parents/parent's car? cause you dont seem like you'd be old enough to own something in that condition that is that old. and i agree with coldblooded, that cant be your daily driver, then again i guess it didnt say "what do you drive daily?" it just says "what do you drive" which is a little more vague. Can you tell us some more detail about ur car, cause i like it. Like how it came into your possession, motor, interior custom or original resto, win any awards? those kinda things :)

again sorry if it sounds like im being a dick.. ???

Edit: derp.. found that image on first page of google images :P, its here:
