I may change the name, I still have texturing lighting sound spawnpoints and maybe some shaders to create. But this is the Radiant View of the map im working on. Its my first real map ive started and never finished a couple before like my estate one. Im motivated with this one because I think the gameplay will be decent. I will create a TDM/CTF version (Hopefully) for the bots. And then a door version for TS.

I may change the name :)


EDIT: The map is quite large. Looks small maybe takes a good 60 seconds to take the outer loop.

Map is slightly themed as a science facility where experiments are done on human subjects against their will. :)

that looks very good =], the thing with me is i know a bit about mapping (all the basics) and i still kind of suck at it  :P i still have lots to learn but you and tank seem to be real good at =] maybe you guys should set up a mapping class =] i will go =] and im sure alot of other upcoming mappers will goto  ;)

Im pretty burned out on this map, Texturing is almost complete. Counting autosaves I have 24 saved copies of this map as backup lol. Paranoid since the the last meltdown. This time around I had Radiant Lock up once and i thought i lost an hours work but thank God for autosaves. :)

Credit for this obvious idea goes to Coffee, We are going to paint plywood white as our canvas and splatter fake blood all over it to create blood textures. Might do boot prints and definitely bloody hand print smear.

But i hope to get SNKs involved in a play test very soon. Lighting and ambient sound are last on my list. :)


EDIT: I am not entirely sure i care if this map keeps much of a theme at this point. Game play is key for me.

I love it!  That was actually a really fun map even if it doesn't have a lot of objects yet.  Good job Quaker!

Wow, this looks amazing! my only complaint is tha the hallways are almost completely empty. I havent actually played a game on it, but from running around, i think snipers will pwn the hallways =/ not to mention, tipped over barrels releasing harmful radioactive waste would look cool :D Haha overall, its really, really good. I hope this gets put on a server soon, because i want to play a eal game on it :D

Ron put it up on Chronic last night. Even though its not finished, In the future id prefer help building a map so we can make something great. Tank hinted and changed the layout of one set of hallways to enhance performance of the map. :)

Think of it like Cambridge. Only no skybox.



I just scaled down x and y on the entire map by 10%. This makes it feel faster getting around. Left Z the same. Almost hard to tell but if you start moving around the map it will be around 10% faster :P  This narrowed the halls but hardly. I just had to realign a few textures.
