how do you get a signature???

Hey i am kinda confused on how to get a forum signature. I found my sig i want say this http://www.stillmatic.co.uk/images/blanksig2.gif. When i type it into the url in the forum profile section, and i type www.stillmatic.co.uk in the website title. What am i doing wrong??? Need help >.>

Is it supposed to move? I thought .gif files are animated, I don't see any animation. Anyways, I uploaded your sig with Imageshack and copied the Direct Link.
Now to get it as a sig, you have to do this:
  img    http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6896/blanksig2mk.gif  /img
^     ^                                                                                        ^     ^
[        ]                                                                                       [       ]

No spaces between them, just place the brackets round the 'img' and '/img'. Once you did that, you can copy it to your profile settings, and paste it in the signature box.

If you want cool sigs with ur name in it ask satura or bourb, theyre pro in making sigs :p

Couple notes for Satura,

1. GIF images can be static or animate (they do not have to animate)

2. If you inclose your bbcodes in a NOBBC tag then you will not have to worry about breaking up your tags like that.

 Example: [nobbc][color=red]Normally I would be red but because I am in a nobbc tag I do not get parsed[/color][/nobbc]

Output: [color=red]Normally I would be red but because I am in a nobbc tag I do not get parsed[/color]

With the profile picture all you have to do is save the picture and set it as your profile pic, or you could make your own. But you gotta make sure its a good size. Anyways.. that's what I did with mine ;)

I don't know much about sigs though... I wish I did :(

ok let me explain this

For an Animated .gif file as your Sigmature

Put it on a website if you havent already(so it has a url)
do [img]http://www.1upclan.info/images/tesla_avatar.gif[/img](replace it with your URL)

This will come out with this:




For an Animated Profile Pic:

For it to be Animated you can no directly upload it to 1up
Upload it to some Image hosting site
then link it using the image tags [img] and [/img]

alright still confused. I learned how to get signature, but how to get either an animated profile pic, or signature i dont know... I was trying to get this as my profile picture http://media.photobucket.com/image/lol%20cat/igniz92/Animated%20GIFS/3e41ec58_3b12_74d3.gif?o=23

If i were to get this as an animated profile picture, or signature would i type it like this -> [img]example[ /img]

I would fill the example part with the http:// am i correct? Still doesnt work, and yes its a gif so to my understanding it will work animated. Many thanks for the help  ;)

I think it doesnt work because that is not the direct link. I think you need to have the direct link to make it work, but I'm not totally sure about that. I uploaded it, copied the direct link and tested it, and it worked for me.


so for using this as your avatar you only have to copy the direct link to your profile, make sure you have "Specify avatar by URL" checked. http://i53.tinypic.com/1610r5g.gif
