Title: Learning the Ropes
Post by: RonaldLee[1up] on November 13, 2012, 06:53:56 PM
I am starting to get the hang of this game.
The sniper rifles are very powerful: one-shot-one-kill for some of them.

Just like when I first started playing Urban Terror, it took me a while to get a positive score. And now today I finally reached a third place mark for one map.

Here is some advice I can give

First is to experiment with weapons. Find what style suits you best
Snipers - High Dmg, Slow Speed, Very High Accuracy
LMG - Med/High SMG, Med Speed, Short/Med Range
Assault Rifle - Med/High Speed, Med/High Dmg, High Accuracy
SMG - Very Fast, Low Dmg, Short Range

There are some other types I have yet to unlock that im sure someone else can enlighten you all on.

Buy a premade for each type at some point. IF you plan on playing period and have a couple bucks, buy the starter pack

Goodjob. I like the graphics settings by the way. I would like to get rid of that stupid glowing and shimmering of everything. Makes the game world seem too soft. Is that Dx that effects that?

They ruined this game by pushing engine to the fps limits. I have a pretty good video card and plenty of ram, but the game is a terrible lag fest and fps hog. Even if you turn everything down to almost 0 you still end up with less than 50 fps ---plenty of terrible movement issues. They made the game unplayable by "adding" to it. I liked this game until they screwed it up.

EDIT: 3/10/2013

The recent server patch for the game fixed most issues associated with the game.
I am back to playing again and leveling up.
