What about posting the 3ds-md3-any3dformat models?

Tesla has been looking for someone for awhile to make a cartoon mascott for 1up, in a 3D model. You might just be the person for that.

I'll send Tesla a message and let him know you're interested; I know he has some ideas of his own already, but yes, something with humanoid characteristics, probably without the pipe though. Thank you.

See the following link for examples of the style and quality I would like to have for our mascot. http://www.logodesignworks.com/mascot-samples.htm (http://www.logodesignworks.com/mascot-samples.htm)

In general, I want to have a mushroom solider that as pyrite said, has the body of a humanoid and the head of a 1up styled mushroom. I would like this to be done from a sideview or 3/4 view perspective and in vector graphics if at all possible so that it can be resized without losing quality.

I would also like the mascot to be holding a weapon of some sort. One of the weapons from UrT would prob do best, don't really mind which one tho as long as it's proportionate to the size of the mascot, and I would prefer that the weapon was created on a layer by itself that could be enabled / disabled as needs arise.

Anything else, just ask or speak to me on TS3 if you see me around.

Alright I see wat your trying to say.
hmmm, but I can't really understand about the 3/4 view perspective and in vector graphics...
Do you mean taking some picures from it and make a vector graphics of it...or?
Because the pictures on the site you have giving me are not really 3d models...

... in vector graphics...

Actually, your model is already vector, I think. Meaning, you can export it to a PNG for example at any size. I think Tesla is just trying to say he wants the model's artwork file so he can create any size of raster image out of it, whenever he needs to, without asking you to do it. I am not sure what common open formats you can export to. EPS is a common vector format though. I wouldn't worry about this right now.

I get it, thnx  Pyrite  ;)
I will begin on the mascot.
Don't expect it to be finished next week, If you want a good model, it takes time...certainly a charachter

hmmm, I need to know one more thing, are you willing to make animations with the model? Or do you only want to take some pictures of it?does it going to be used in video or game?
Because than I need to make the model in a T-pose with all the right loops and edges...
Title: Re: Valkiry's Model Library

This mascot will be for print media only (ie. does not need to be animated).

A 3/4 view perspective is where the object is seen at an angle that is somewhere between front view and  side view (see the image below for an example pose that is in 3/4 view perspective)

About the vector graphic question, All I need is the ability to resize the image (up or down) without distorting it or losing quality.  As Pyrite mentioned, if you can export the image in a format that is compatible with Photoshop, then we should be fine.

Finally, it's important to realize that the style of the mascot should not look to 3D'ish.  My aim is for a cartoon styled graphic like the ones on the example site I gave you, not a 3D model per say.

Alright  ;) I fully understand you now.
Tomorrow I'll begin, I already have my charachter in my mind and drawed on paper.
I've got my reference material, so maybe Ill keep you up to date about my model, and send you some pictures of it 2 you, so you can judge.

Sound good. It's a daring task to say the least and I am very picky (I prefer the term passionate) about this site because I have spent almost 3yrs on it and have plans to redesign it soon and this mascot is an integral part of that design.

Really nice looking, Nice looking shadow of the person by the way :)

Now I want to make a tower :P

And out of the curiosity, what was with the falling business at the end of the video, you fell through like 3 floors :/

I also have to ask, on Cry Island How did you go about the rocks? Did you make the whole Island out of one mesh then colored some for rock and some for grass

Or did you make the whole Grassy landscape and added rocks where they looked good?

It all looks very nice :P

Yea, we didnt add proxys at the center of the tower, so you can walk right trough the walls xD

You start with, you build the scale of the island, than paint the surface with grass texture(or anything else), than like you said add seperatly the rocks and trees and stuff, all of this is modeled. (Make the whole Island of one mesh? xD would be lots of painting xD)
Try the engine out if you want, it's free to download and use. With default objects and textures and even vehicles in it.
