for some kind of mod...
everyone starts off with a knife.. and theres only 1 gun.. (maybe an sr8 so its easier to pass the gun around between players) placed in the middle of the map.. so everyone rushes to get the gun 1st..

i think it could be fun... sr8 with unlimited ammo.. and slow the knife down so people arent just running around using a knife instead of trying to get the gun..

Maybe there should be 3 or 4 sr8's hidden around the map. Keep it default sr8 (meaning you HAVE to watch the bolt animation) BUT make it do 100% damage to every body part (arm and leg hits are insta kill just like a torso hit) and make knife do 20% damage all around with the regular attack speed.
Would be pretty interesting to see this being played by like 15-20 people.

I think having one weapon would be the fun part of it. Bc everyone will race to get it and cause a cluster ****. It doesn't necessarily have to be a sr8, I just mentioned that bc the sr8 is a slow gun and would give everyone a chance to knife the guy with it. But I'm sure you guys can mod the votes for g_gear? Like /callvote nextmap g_gear "" I dunno. Just throwing out idears

i think this would be really popular but.... there are 3 problems
1) Camping
2) Maps ( i really cant think of any sutiable maps)
3) The same people will get the sr8 all the time ( no fun for players that are not that good)
and would this be a FFA or TS or TDM?

1)The player lost life if they don't kill ( like the zombie T.S system)
2)I'm sure we can find appropriate maps like Riyad or Barn ( why not create our own map)
3) I propose to bring up players who have the top scores a little further of the weapon and bring up a player with the lowest score over nearer to the weapon

I think it's possible, maybe with a train in the map, to move the guns around, and maybe wit an automatic shooter (I don't think there are on urban terror) you could make the game more interesting (maybe with a "temple" with traps and more, indiana jones-style).

yes you can get automatic guns there are some on the zombie assault server and are called "Mr Sentry"

Why would this be so popular? There is really nothing more going on here than someone obtaining an SR8 after knife killing a person who has the SR8. Other than that, a bunch of people are just running around trying to knife everyone.

agreed, this idea sux, but would only work if everyone w/ knives was on same team, and the SR8 the opposite team, as the SR8 dude gets knifed, he becomes the knifer on opposite side... but as Ron said, it still boils down to a bunch of people running around, eventually switching servers due to boredom because almost all SR8 shooters require a camping spot that's hidden! ;)

how would they have to be on the same team? Lets say it was TS.. on smaller, wide open maps so theres not so much camping..BUT if everyone were to run at the beginning of the map to try to get the gun.. everyone would meet around the same time in the middle making it hard for the person with the gun to get away.... and thats why i said a gun like sr8 so people cant spam legs and get easy kills... and i just meant 1 gun per round.. not a respawning gun, so everyone is fighting over one thing
and i dont know how youre able to mod things.. but what would make people go for the gun would be to make it where only the person with the gun can get knifed rather than people knifing each other... and also like minus had mentioned to prevent camping, where the health slowly goes down
like i said im just throwing out an idea... so please dont be rude with the feedback, "this idea sux"

How about a supposed "Infection"? maybe one or two people with sr8s and the rest are all knifing and the people with the sr8 shoot zombies thus making them human again and vice versa for zombies. untill theres no1 left from either zombies or humans.

easy Dolt, i guess i didn;t understand what exactly u meant, but this explanation is much better, now it makes more sense. as for my being 'rude' i apologize, it wasn't meant to be rude towards 'you' per-say, as it was to say the 'idea in general sux' [which @ the time it did kinda sound like a bad idea] however, w/ this new explanation you've offered now, i gotta say 'everyone rushing' to get the SR8 in the middle, good idea, but unfair for anyone that can't hop 'n jump very well. which in my opinion is over 1/2 of the ppl playing urt!
overall i think your new idea is very feasible, and prob would be alot of fun, however, it would boil down to winners of SR8 being solely peeps who can speed jump well, and would leave the rest @ begining of round wondering wtf the damn SR8 went, another good point being that your slowly loosing health while holding the SR8, that alone would give people an advantage of getting the kill due to SR8 peeps not being able to run quick from knifers!
with that said i F1 this gamestyle idea, i think without actually testing it however, we'll never really know for sure!
btw. i suggested all knifers being 'blue' lets say, and the 'winner' of the SR8 chase @ beginning of round becomes 'red' this in turn would prevent ppl from 'knifing' one another, due to them all being 'blue' [i hope you can understand this explanation, i don't know how else to put it]
ps. nice idea and well thought out though Dolt, sounds to me like you'd make a gr8 lvl designer [w/ practice ;)]

- whoever holds the gun loses stamina faster when they jump whereas the people with knives trying to obtain the gun have unlimited stamina?
kinda like in older versions of urban terror where the negev only allowed you to jump 2 or 3 times bc its a heavy gun, maybe that same feature could be applied?
i dunno if that could be done, but i think that would give even the non skilled jumpers a chance to catch a decent jumper.

i agree G|Man - i think this mod holds ground for a trial test run, and @Dolt, your loosing my concept of what i meant bro, this mod is a 'sound' idea, prob being is 'even with increased stamina' for knifers, there is still a certain 'skillset' that allows for knowledgeable 'jumpers' to cover certain distance faster than 'unskilled' jumpers [you know the bunny-jump-turn-twist-while-jumping method?] this 'jump-style' allows for almost 'hacker-style' distance to be covered quickly, whereas non-skilled jumpers are left in the dust!
JUST THE SAME - GR8 MOD! hopefully it reaches test runs or gets voted for that!

why not have it where its a FFA and everyone starts off with 1 sr8 round and when you kill some one you get an sr8 round when you have none left you use the knife also there could be ammo places guarded by mr sentries

Greenfalcon. There is already a server for that. It is called on in the chamber and the clan that made it with my help pisses me off.
I like this concept, but just like zombiebomb and assault, this is going to be pretty dang difficult if we wish this to be as successful as zombiebomb.

Have you thought about making possible that girls can choose their hair color? I would love my player to be a blond girl :D, long hair would be femenine and cute too...

I like this idea if 1up make this serv ill play on it. its not impotant how big fault can be but its impotant how this fault can give fun for players! If its make something F1 :P

ok lets try to simplify this thread to make it easier to see what we want...
1. gametype i think should be Team Survivor
2. EVERYONE starts off with a knife... and there is only one weapon, preferably sr8, placed in the middle of the map, or in equal distance of each spawn point
3. sr8 normal damage? and normal shooting (having to watch the animation of reloading)
4. if possible, only the person with the gun can be knifed --- to prevent people from just knifing each other
5. if possible, person with gun loses stamina (normal amount) when jumping, knifers have unlimited
6. everyone loses a little health slowly to prevent people from camping, but maybe gain 100 percent health when you aquire the gun?
just putting down some ideas of what i think should be put together...feel free to modify for whatever works for you guys.. im just giving you the base idea.

It is 'Superman vs All' - the FFA server running ut4_superman map with special weapon set and a special 'superman' item (initially hidden medkit) which gives many advantages to a single player holding it...
It's a good mod. Spent a couple hours on it. Would be great on a smaller map, Superman is just too big to be looking for a single person (then again, superman is just plain too big). Not a big fan of the beretta on it but the nukes are way cool. I would LOVE to see this idea made with an HK69 with those nukes ;)
