Title: how do you get a signature???
Post by: Steez on July 21, 2011, 10:15:45 AM: Hey i am kinda confused on how to get a forum signature. I found my sig i want say this http://www.stillmatic.co.uk/images/blanksig2.gif (http://www.stillmatic.co.uk/images/blanksig2.gif). When i type it into the url in the forum profile section, and i type www.stillmatic.co.uk (http://www.stillmatic.co.uk) in the website title. What am i doing wrong??? Need help >.>

Now to get it as a sig, you have to do this:
img http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6896/blanksig2mk.gif (http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6896/blanksig2mk.gif) /img
^ ^ ^ ^
[ ] [ ]

No spaces between them, just place the brackets round the 'img' and '/img'. Once you did that, you can copy it to your profile settings, and paste it in the signature box.

1. GIF images can be static or animate (they do not have to animate)

2. If you inclose your bbcodes in a NOBBC tag then you will not have to worry about breaking up your tags like that.

Example: [nobbc][color=red]Normally I would be red but because I am in a nobbc tag I do not get parsed[/color][/nobbc]

With the profile picture all you have to do is save the picture and set it as your profile pic, or you could make your own. But you gotta make sure its a good size. Anyways.. that's what I did with mine ;)

I don't know much about sigs though... I wish I did :(

For an Animated .gif file as your Sigmature

Put it on a website if you havent already(so it has a url)
do [img]http://www.1upclan.info/images/tesla_avatar.gif[/img](replace it with your URL)

This will come out with this:

(http://www.1upclan.info/images/tesla_avatar.gif)

For an Animated Profile Pic:

For it to be Animated you can no directly upload it to 1up
Upload it to some Image hosting site
then link it using the image tags [img] and [/img]

If i were to get this as an animated profile picture, or signature would i type it like this -> [img]example[ /img]

I would fill the example part with the http:// am i correct? Still doesnt work, and yes its a gif so to my understanding it will work animated. Many thanks for the help ;)

Post by: Satura on July 23, 2011, 04:59:20 AM: I think it doesnt work because that is not the direct link. I think you need to have the direct link to make it work, but I'm not totally sure about that. I uploaded it, copied the direct link and tested it, and it worked for me.

Thats probably because it is not the Direct link. For sigs / avatars just pick the Direct link.

Also the direct link for cat crash helicopter when i put it as my profile picture it only shows the first frame, and yeah i used specify by url :'(. Also is there a frame cap for profile pictures? If i recall the cat helicopter one was like 94 frames. The one i am using dancing kitteh is like 20 frames and what i did is download then just did upload avatar and it worked :], I was thinking some of the direct links on photobucket are broken >.<

Post by: Satura on July 23, 2011, 11:33:53 AM: The direct link of Photobucket doesn't work for me neither, weird. However, it is on Tinypic because I uploaded it there to test if it works with that link, and it does for me. I personally never use Photobucket, I mostly use Imageshack or Tinypic.
