Title: New forum bug reports
Post by: Tesla[1up] on March 16, 2012, 09:02:46 PM
Before filing a report you should clear your browsers cache (http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache) and logout and log back into the forums to see if the problem is resolved on it's own.

If you are having any issues with the new forum report them here. When filing a report include the following information:

A detailed description of the problem(s) you are experiencing:
Steps needed to reproduce the problem:
Your browser name & version:
Your Screen Resolution:
Screenshots illustrating the problem: (optional but highly recommended)

The following list outlines some of the issues we are already aware of. You will not need to file a report if you are experiencing one of these issues.

- Background color for nested quotes is to bright.
- The search box on the menu bar does not work correctly.
- Issues with Tapatalk and some bbcodes.

Thx,
1up Clan

Not sure if this is a bug or not or even if ya'll wanted it this way or not but her I go. :)

When you are on any page on the forums and you click "Front Page" it brings you to the home page on a different tab.  ???

Also I did clear my cache thing and I am running on Chrome. :)

Admin Note: That is by design so you can have the main site and forums open at the same time if you wish.

browser Name: FireFox
Version: 11.0

Problems And bugs that i found at the site are:

* Chat logger still haven't been added to the site.

Admin Note: This is not a forum issue.

* Sometimes when i enter the site/Forum The chat start from Up,like when i enter i start reading from up thinking that
the latest was writing from up which i think this cant be done or whatever.
And every time i enter the chat i need to scroll down to see what the latest was Written.

Admin Note: This is by design, the newest chats will always appear at the bottom. Status: not a bug...

* When i try to enter The clan Roster page Which is here:
Forum,members,clan rosters.
Its saying:
Apologies, but you're not allowed to view the team page. ( SOLVED)

* A Chat Box for latest news and stuff was Placed in Administrator Center.
I Would like to know why it was removed and if possible to add it Cause Ron and others used to use it to post the latest news on our servers and forum and etc.

Firefox V 10.0.2

Message box appears to have no end on the right side. The only thing I changed in the following picture was pressing enter in the line of 1's. Most of them just go off screen.

Admin Note: Resolved. Thanks for your patience in this matter.

Is this in the Quick Reply box or the normal Reply box? Or new post box?

Please give ordered numerical steps to reproduce if you can.

It happens on new post, reply and edit. I can't really say how to produce it as it happens every time I go to reply/make a new thread.

Don't be a baby baby. Here, I'll get you started:

Title: Re: New forum bug reports
Post by: Zangetsu on March 16, 2012, 11:23:52 PM
Step 1: Click Reply/Start New Thread/Modify Post
Step 2: See this huge message box
Step 3: Press enter before my message goes off screen so I can continue to see what I'm typing
Step 4: Post reply/make new thread/edit a post

How's that? -.-

Browser: Firefox

When posting a new reply (possibly a new topic, havent tried) the tree link will have "Post reply ( <<topic name>>" , there wont be an ending parenthesis.

Steps:
1. Go to topic
2. Hit reply
3. Look at navigation tree

I found that on the shoutbox that undecided smiley or emotional face or what ever you wanna call it doesn't work. All the others do.  This face :-\ looks like this on the shoutbox. :-

Also I am still using Chrome.

@Zang Load up the 1up forum in Firefox, Press Ctrl+F5 on your keyboard and then see if the problem persists.

Didn't change anything.

It doesn't do it in Opera though. Is anybody else having the same problem or is it just me?
Title: Re: New forum bug reports
Post by: Term on March 17, 2012, 03:39:10 AM
No it doesn't do it for me. I am using chrome still and I just have the standard size box. I can see everything I type because it just moves it down below my other sentence right before it goes to the end of the box. I understand what you mean zang but it just doesn't do it for me. So I take it that it is ok for Chrome. :)

If there is anything I can help with testing and you think that my computer skills are good enough just let me know and I will try it. :D

Zang, it does the same for me in Firefox 11.0 on Ubuntu Linux 11.04 but not in Chrome on teh same system. The Quick reply box does not exhibit the same behavior and appears to be working correctly.

sorry if I should've made a new topic!

BillyHatcher arcade game goes completely black as soon as round begins.

I click "Start", no problem.
I click "Click Here to Begin", no problem.
It zooms out and music begins, it then goes dark.

I'm using Firefox 12.0. I also tried it at Chrome 18.0.1025.168 m and even Internet Exploder 8.0 (all latest versions) and same result.

Screen resolution at 1024 x 768.

I am wondering if others have this problem because it's the only one (I'm guessing without looking) that has no recorded high scores yet lol.

I am a bit late on this, but as you can see I was busy with the new site redesign and did not have a chance to read your post.  Anyway, I always test the games to make sure they work and that the score submits correctly before putting them on the live arcade. This one worked fine for me during my test and as you can see, my scored was saved to the database as well.

I did test again a few moments ago and I did see that the screen will go blank if you try to resize your browser window after the game has loaded. This may or may not be the problem in your case, but something worth taking note of anyway.  Another issue could be the Flash player version you are using, if you have not done so already, try updating your Flash player to the latest version possible and try the game again. You can also try to disable any browser addons / extensions you have and see if the game runs then.

I did notice that I was the only person who had a score for that game tho. I just thought it was due to the fact that nobody liked it enough to play it, but after seeing your report, I see there may be another reason and if anyone can confirm the issue that FatherGoose has reported above, then I will remove the game from the arcade and replace it with something else.

hmm...

well, thanks for replying, Tesla.
I didn't resize anything though, it just won't load. I'm on 1024 x 768 by choice, idk if that has anything to do with it. You were able to play though, so I'm not sure why I could not.
I had Flash 11,3,300,262 , updated to 11,3,300,265 - not a big change. But still it goes blank.
No plugins are blocking the game, and I disabled Adblock Plus to no avail.

The music is catchy though, I just wish it were possible to play. If there were a way to fix it/reinstall it rather than remove it, wouldn't that be preferable?

It's kind of one of those things that either works or it does not. I could reverse engineer the SWF file back to the FLA and look at it to see if there is any reason why it would not display in some circumstances, but to be honest, the game is not that good anyway. It was made for younger children and not really that fun to play. Other than that, I simply do not have the time to look into it that deeply right now since I will be going away for 3 months starting Sunday. I will just put up another game in it's place and let you all fight for bragging rights on that one instead.

I know this has been around for a long time but under our names it has "Urban Terrorist" Since the clan has opened up to new games and I know that some of the titles will differ based on the games we play I was curious, would it be at all possible to have a title system that will allow us to make our titles something different?

Possibly custom?

I know that you guys change the titles of hackers and stuff but I thought a title system would make things interesting. Possibly have achievements in the forums based on posts and things like that. Something to make the forums even more interactive.

I keep receiving this error when I go to the main forum to post in the shoutbox.

Sorry, you must be logged in to use the shoutbox!

Seems kind of strange, and I wondered if anyone else is having this issue besides me.  This is the first time this error has occurred to me in this forum.  I have seen it in other forums, but they were working out some bugs at the time.

haha Sesko that is not the issue. It is when he is logged in that he can't see it or still gets that message. I have had that happen before but simply refreshing the page fixed it for me.

It was a java cookie that was disabled for this site.  I do not know how it happened, but it did.  Maybe the browser upgrade disabled the cookie?  Who knows. It was fixed with a simple java cookie enable for the site.

I don't see anything in the error log about that.
Yep,why would you shout in the shoutbpx if you aren't logged in?!

I have been having quite an annoying bug lately (or at least i think its a bug)
first of all, i can't remove my own comments,
and second, whenever i try to modify a comment,
it will make a new post with a quote of the modified comment.

From what I have gathered at browsershots.com

Default settings, 143 browsers were selected, 112 uploaded, 31 expired.

Not counting the ones that expired, of the 112 uploaded there were 51 browsers that either crashed or asked for a plugin.
So, from those fifty one browsers that had issues with flash, there were fifteen that crashed.

Those that crashed were:

Debian 6.0 | rekonq 0.9.2
Ubuntu 9.10 | rekonq 1.1
Windows XP | firefox 1.5
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 8.0.552.224
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 17.0.963.56
Windows 2008 r2 | firefox 10.0.2
Windows 2008 r2 | firefox 11.0
Windows 2008 r2 | firefox 15.0
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 12.0.742.112
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 13.0.782.218
Windows 2008 r2 | firefox 20.0
Windows 2008 r2 | firefox 23.0
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 15.0.874.106
Windows 2008 r2 | chrome 21.0
Windows 2008 r2 | msie 5.5

If Nikki is using Windows 2008 r2, it seems that it will be difficult to be able to get her to post demos on the forum.
Does anyone know what OS she is using?
Which browser she is using?
What flash version?
What java version?

Even the simple fact that flash is a buggy code, other considerations such as certain browser version, java\flash version and OS version can cause issues.  I could mention that those 31 browser / java\flash / OS versions that timed out could have crashed during loading and never would load a screen shot.  So a possible forty six browsers / java\flash / operating system combinations can not properly load the forum.

You can find the results here.  http://browsershots.org/http://www.1upclan.info/forum/index.php

I do not know how long the screen shots will be available though.
Hope this helps...

I use Chrome and it works for me. The forum is not compatible with every single browser.
It also works well with Tapatalk, but that is an app. I use Tapatalk for convenience on my phone.

I feel like this is caused because there is not enough width on the window,  and it collides with the logo let me see what can be done.

Agreed. I verified the issue even on my desktop with Firefox. Resize the width of the window until you see the userarea div move below the header. Some css magic can fix it.
