Nero: Promises
In the theme of Equilibrium, this video is set in a fictitious Totalitarian Dystopia.  Movies and songs on this subject always strike a chord with me.  Good video.





The Cranberries: Zombie
Great song.  Most people would probably interpret this as a blanket statement against any kind of war.  I believe rather, that this song is a statement against humanities habitual existence.  We are zombies.  Always doing, never seeing, never thinking.  And the results are often catastrophic.  Of course, Dolores' perspective is largely based on the 1916 Irish/English conflict.

On the lighter side, this is a fun old song by one of the best female vocalists/dancers, and features another amazing artist.

I know, I know.  You're probably wondering why I'm listening to songs like these.  But this one's good, and its a message that seems to be lost in our society.  Fathers are the most important presence in the lives of their daughters.  Girls need to grow up with the expectation of being treated with love and respect.  How will girls even know what to look for if they don't see it first in their father?




Sarah McLachlan: Building a Mystery
Everyone has insecurities and fears.  Everyone is searching for something real.  But we don't like to admit it.  In this song, Sarah looks at someone she loves, and pulls all the BS away from him.  She removes the suit of armor, revealing the perfect, mysterious quiet desperation below.
